Office of Child Care School-Age Child Care Institute 2024: Building and Enhancing Out-of-School Time Opportunities Through Collaboration

Please join the Office of Child Care (OCC) for the 2024 School-Age Child Care Institute.  The Institute will focus on systems level collaboration between the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and key partners, as well as highlight OCC priorities and the new CCDF Final Rule published in March 2024.

Plenary sessions include:

• Discussions with OCC Leadership regarding the new CCDF Final Rule
• Presentation of OCC priorities
• Panel discussion on Promoting Mental Health
• Opportunities for question and answers

Breakout sessions include:

• Expanding supply and improving access
• Cost modeling and salary scales
• Supporting continuous quality improvement, licensing practices, and comprehensive services
• Career pathways, apprenticeships, credentialing, and professional development

OCC is working with its National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE) and other national technical assistance centers to plan this event.

Who Should Attend

Participants should be state or territory CCDF Administrators or their designees focused on school-age child care. You are encouraged to bring one or two people from your state or territory with whom you collaborate or would like to collaborate. Potential partners include 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) state coordinators, and State Afterschool Network leads.
